# About the Infrared Illuminator of MOBOTIX ONE

Hello Community Center.

I would like to learn about MOBOTIX ONE.

Does the infrared illuminator automatically turn on when the illumination level drops below a certain threshold for both short-range and long-range distances?  
Is it possible to configure the illumination settings for short-range and long-range separately?  
Or are both short-range and long-range illuminations activated simultaneously?  
What is the approximate range for short-range and long-range distances?

You can set threshold of illumination level when to turn it on or off.  
Both led’s are activated at same time.  
Distance depends on settings, and what you want to achieve, but my opinion is that integrated light is enough for ~15m depending on surroundings.

My test results (same cam settings that i think are good enough to use, are kept in all pictures).

Sky was lightly overcast, additional light came from street that’s 300m behind camera.
