MxMC: Distribution of clips in MXG format

There are various ways to pass on recorded sequences using the VMS Client MOBOTIX Management Center (MxMC).

  • Export as MXG format (MOBOTIX optimal format)

  • Export as AVI (Mjpeg) (drastically increase the file size of the AVI export if resolution and frame rate differ from the recording)

  • Export as mp4 or MKV format (requires Starter License)
Various players are available for sharing:

VLC Player (based on FFMPEG) supports the following formats/containers:

  • mp4

  • MKV

  • AVI

  • MXG

    Quicktime Player

  • mp4

  • MKV

  • AVI

  • MXG (requires Direct Show Plugin -> https://www.mobotix.com/de/node/1229)

Windows Media Player

The above mentioned players only support a simple playback of the recording. They do not support a subsequent equalization of a 360 ° recording or a new export function.

The alternative is to use the MOBOTIX Management Center (MXMC) under Windows:

The idea behind this is to copy the clips and the MxMC as an application onto the original export of the original material on the medium that is to be passed on (e.g. USB stick).

With the script below, the user can start the MxMC WITHOUT installation and the clips will be imported automatically. For users such as the police or public prosecutor’s office, a player will open up and play back the clips using the convenience functions of the MxMC.

The advantages:

  • The user can start MxMX directly from the stick (no installation required)

  • The user can take full advantage of the MxMC:

  • Comfortable playback

  • Equalization of the image

  • Re-export data or only a small part of it

  • Display in a multiple view possible

An example BAT-file, which is necessary for this, is inserted below:

  • MxMC program files are located below the folder specified in the BAT file.

  • The folder contains videos with Mxg clips! (These must be copied there first)

  • The whole thing can still be created as an autorun (USB image), and then the MxMC will start directly without user input and has full playback support from the MxMC. Much more than the VLC player will ever provide.
