Troubleshooting: Text labels cut off or missing in the MOBOTIX HUB DeskClient, Management Client or Management Application

In some cases, it can happen that certain tabs in the ManagementClient/DeskHub are only half displayed or “letters” are missing.

In most cases this is due to the scaling level of the display.

How to get this solved, you can see in this article

Issue: Text Labels cut off or missing

Cause:
Using a Custom scaling level is not recommended by Microsoft or Mobotix, because it can cause display issues with many applications.
This is a common Windows display issue with most .Net applications and no settings within the applications can cater for this.
It does not affect settings in any way, but makes it difficult to use.

Solution:

  1. The Custom scaling level should always be set to 100% (recommended)
For Windows 7, Windows 8.x, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2012, the Font scaling should be set to 100%.
However, in Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016, this has been improved, so it should be possible using more than 100% scaling for text and applications:
Control Panel → Appearance and Personalization → Display → Change the size of text, apps and other items
As an alternative, the display resolution can be reduced (while keeping all scaling at 100%)

  2. In Windows 10 there is an alternative way to solve the font scaling issue:

  3. Right-click on the Management Client shortcut icon.

  • Choose Properties .
  • Click the Compatibility tab.
  • Check the “Override high DPI scaling behavior” checkbox (or the “Disable Display Scaling On High DPI”).
  • If those options are not available, click the “Change high DPI settings” button.
  • If the option “Override high DPI scaling behavior” is available, try selecting below (in the list): “Application,” “System,” or "System (Enhanced).
