MxMC not start properly in a Remote Desktop Connection or in a VM environment

The MxMC uses the Open GL interface of the graphics card for image processing to reduce the load on the main processor. In environments that do not allow direct access to the graphics card, it is advisable to disable OpenGL support in the General Settings of the MxMC in case of startup problems.

Especially in environments like:

  • Remote Desktop Connections
  • Virtual Machine (VM Environments)

it is advisable to switch off the OPEN GL support.

Is there a way to disable OpenGL per default? I’ve fresh installed MxMC 2.6, bit it’s starts with a white/empty Window. In the Windows registry I don’t find a key for.

Open Gl could be disabled via the User Interface (File–> Preferences → General == Disable OPEN GL).

For Experts:
you can adjust the Registry Manually as shown in the screenshot (openglactive)
