Adding new devices licenses to an existing MOBOTIX HUB with Advanced Service Product (ASP)

This article will explain in detail how MOBOTIX HUB licensing works when you need to add more device licenses to an existing MOBOTIX HUB with Advanced Service.

Adding new devices

The new devices and Advanced Service (ASP) (device number x days, for example 7 devices x 365 days for a one-year ASP) are added to the MOBOTIX HUB. A new total number of devices and ASP days is generated for the new expanded system. The ASP is then “divided” by the number of devices, ensuring there is always only one ASP expiry date per SLC number.

The MOBOTIX HUB ASP is linked to the individual system’s base license. (MOBOTIX HUB ASP for system expansions must be aligned with the main MOBOTIX HUB ASP.)

When enhancing an existing MOBOTIX HUB with additional cameras, you can maintain full MOBOTIX HUB ASP coverage in one of the following two ways:

  1. Option one: Keep the original MOBOTIX HUB ASP coverage period.
    You can maintain an existing MOBOTIX HUB ASP renewal date when purchasing additional cameras, by purchasing ASP coverage for the additional device licenses on a monthly basis (the required amount will be calculated by our MOBOTIX Order Team (order@mobotix.com)). This is useful if the main ASP renewal date is aligned with your calendar or fiscal year.

  2. Option two: Extend the original ASP coverage period.
    You can purchase one or more years of MOBOTIX HUB ASP coverage when extending an existing system. This ASP service coverage will be used to calculate a new extended coverage period for the entire system. The new ASP coverage period will be calculated based on the value of the remaining main MOBOTIX HUB ASP coverage period and the size and nature of the system expansion.

Note: If you do not want to purchase MOBOTIX HUB ASP coverage for the system expansion after the initial ASP coverage period, the main ASP will end from the purchase date of the system expansion, and any remaining value of the main MOBOTIX HUB ASP coverage period will not be refunded. Upgrading to a more advanced MOBOTIX HUB product

MOBOTIX HUB ASP coverage is linked to a specific MOBOTIX HUB product. This means that when you are upgrading to a more advanced product (for example, when doing an upgrade from MOBOTIX HUB L3 to MOBOTIX HUB L4), you must also upgrade your ASP in order to maintain the coverage. To enable easy upgrades between different ASP products, MOBOTIX will credit the price of the remaining unused MOBOTIX HUB coverage period to the price of the new ASP period.
