How to Backup your Door Station and MxBus Configuration

The MOBOTIX Door Station provides the ability to store a backup the system configuration, as well as to restore the original settings in case the configuration has been accidentally changed.

Backup Camera and MxBus Module configuration Camera and MxBus modules configuration can be backed up to the internal Micro SD card or on a local computer. Below we will describe both procedures.

Backup on Internal Micro SD card

The advantage of this method over simply saving and loading the configuration from the local PC, is that the configuration and encryption from the MxBus is also saved. This means when you restore the configuration, there is no requirement to reset and reinitialize the MxBus Modules. Also there is no risk of “Invalid Encryption” on the MxBus Modules

  1. Open the Web browser and type the IP address of your camera (e.g. 172.22.0.42).

  2. Go to Admin Menu >> Backup and Restore system configuration to/from SD card.

  1. Press the “Backup” button to start the backup process. The camera configuration and the MxBus modules configuration will be stored to the internal Micro SD card.

  2. To restore a backup you need to:

  • Select the backup name from the drop-down menu,

  • Type the Super PIN

  • Click on “Restore configuration and reboot”. The camera will load the settings and will perform a reboot.

NOTE: the backed up configuration may contain different passwords for the camera access and for the encryption of the MxBus modules. Make sure you know at least the admin password to gain access to the camera with administrative rights to avoid to make the camera inaccessible.
