Instructions on how to restore the factory default settings can be found in your product’s User Manual or Quick Installation Guide. You can download them from the MOBOTIX web site..
Reset camera to factory default from the web interface
Step 1. Access the camera via browser.
Step 2. Open the Admin Menu and scroll down to the Configuration section and click on Reset configuration to factory defaults
Step 3. A new window will be open. From the drop-down menu select Completely replace the current configuration
Step 4. Click the Reset button.
Step 5. Camera has loaded the Factory defaults. To enable the settings click Store to store the configuration and then reboot the camera.
If firmware 5.1.0.x or greater is loaded in the camera, you will not be able to access the “Store” link due to the fact that an overlay dialog forces you to change the default password (meinsm). In this case, if your intention is to permanently store the factory configuration (factory password included), you can bypass the overlay dialog by typing the following URL on your browser:
http://ip_camera/admin/rcontrol?action=storeconfig
Note 1. In this case the camera user and password are reset to the factory settings., admin/meinsm
Note 2. This camera has a MxBus module connected. If you click Reset MxBus Modules the MxBus module will be reset. We recommend a hardware reset of the module though.
Note 3. If you click Remove logs the camera will reset the system messages and web server logs.
Reset camera to factory defaults (hardware method)
Sometimes the camera is not accesible via network but it is possible that the camera is working properly. In such cases a hardware reset is recommended. As mentioned above the hardware method is mentioned in the User Manuals and Quick Install Guides.
Detailed information can be found in the Help Pages on the camera web interface. These instructions can be found in the following url:
http://<camera_ip>/help/help?camera-start
Camera can be started with a Factory IP or with an IP obtained via DHCP from a DHCP server in the network.
Note 1. Once you reset the settings to factory defaults, access the camera via browser and Save the configuration to keep the factory settings.
Note 2. A hardware reset will NOT reset the user and password to factory defaults.
