M15 Thermal Camera for Temperature Detection
How to find out the min. and max. thermal values for color mapping
• This short instruction is describing, how can you modify the thermal settings, in order to let objects with higher temperature visible and the others invisible.
• Put the thermal camera faced to a human face, approx. 1 meter away from the face.
• Make sure the camera is set to factory default.
• Go to the menu: ”Setup” → “Image Control” → “Thermal Sensor Settings”
• Set “Temperature Control Windows” to “Custom Windows”.
• Open the camera live view.
• Draw a rectangle, which covers the human face, the same way as you define a video motion window.
• Go back to the menu “Thermal Sensor Settings”.
• Press button “Add Rectangle” to add this window as reference window.
• Set “Show Window” to “Histogram”.
• The min. and max. thermal value will be displayed in the histogram, these values are the min. and max. thermal value inside the reference window correspondence.
• Note the found max. value in last step, e.g. “247”.
• Go back to the menu “Thermal Sensor Settings”.
• Set “Automatic adjustment” to “Disable”.
• Enter the found max.value from last step in the field of “Minimum Thermal Value”The min. e.g.”247”.
• Enter a value approx. 10 above the minimum in the field of “Maximum Thermal Value”, e.g. “257”.
• By this way you would find roughly the values for min. and max.
• Then you can adjust them iteratively, to let the higher temperature visible and the other invisible.
