Support for SCIM for VMS User Management

New in MOBOTIX HUB VMS 2025 R1

Support for the SCIM protocol

The 2025 R1 VMS release supports the SCIM specification, System for Cross-domain Identity Management. This enables automatic synchronization of users with an external identity provider.
As a result, changes to permissions take effect instantly, instead of at the next login. Automatic deletion of deactivated users is also supported. Configuration of SCIM in the VMS is done through the MIP SDK or via PowerShell scripts. Okta is supported in this VMS release.

The SCIM specification simplifies user identity management in cloud-based applications and services. Starting with 2025 R1, MOBOTIX HUB supports SCIM for synchronization between the VMS and the external identity provider Okta, allowing automated deletion of VMS users once they are no longer with the company.

What does it solve for the business?

The introduction of SCIM support for VMS Management allows organizations utilizing external identity providers to automatically remove users no longer associated with the company from the VMS.This eliminates manual interventions and enhances security in the long run.

XProtect LPR 2025 R1

MOBOTIX HUB has added the ability to use vehicle properties in searches and match lists to XProtect LPR. Users in MOBOTIX HUB Desk Client can refine their searches by specifying detailed vehicle properties, such as the car’s
make, model, and color. Users can find and specify which vehicle properties they want to see on MOBOTIX HUB Desk Client’s built-in Search tab or the LPR tab.

XProtect LPR Vehicle Analytics introduces enhanced new features. This is to streamline vehicle identification processes and enable security personnel and law enforcement to quickly locate and identify vehicles of interest. The system’s enhanced capabilities allow quick filtering of video data based on specific vehicle characteristics, accelerating investigation processes and improving response times

New vehicle properties:

  • Vehicle Class – Enables operators to charge differently for motorcycles, cars, and buses.
  • Vehicle Color – Helps operators and law enforcement easily locate matching vehicles.
  • Vehicle Model/Make – Further helps agencies and officers identify lost or suspect vehicles. (Please note that XProtect LPR can only recognize a limited amount of models/ makes)
  • Vehicle Angle – Determines which side of the vehicle is facing the camera, e.g. front or rear, helpful in determining entry and exit points in parking applications.
An overview of available vehicle properties has been added to the MOBOTIX HUB 2025-R1 LPR Administrator Manual.

XProtect LPR Vehicle Analytics

Enhance security with efficient Vehicle Identification and transform urban planning with advanced traffic analytics. When sorting through extensive footage of Vehicles, the option to filter on Model/make, Color, Class as well as the angle of the vehicle increases the investigation times and improves efficiency with targeted searches.

Identified Pain
For Law Enforcement Personnel and Traffic Controls, simple License plate recognition presents a range of limitations including, but not limited to:

  • Long hours of filtering through footage
  • Manual search for specific colors, models/make, and angles
  • Manual processes to understand traffic controls

The Result
Manual methods for locating vehicles by analyzing and interpreting angles in video footage are time-consuming and heighten the potential for errors associated with such manual tasks. This may lead to:

  • Slower response times
  • Delays in advancing ongoing investigations
  • Increased expenses related to reviewing footage

Possible Solution
The enhanced XProtect LPR Vehicle Analytics allows law enforcement and security personnel to efficiently comb through extensive footage and live streams to locate specific information.
Potential outcomes include:

  • Faster investigations by law enforcement through targeted searches for colors, models, and more
  • Valuable data and insights for traffic management and urban planning

Extensions to media player export –combined file format

In MOBOTIX HUB 2024 R1, we launched a new combined media player export format, which has proven to be very successful. With the release of 2025 R1, we are expanding this feature to reach a wider range of customers.
Initially designed for casino clients, some functionalities were left out, but have now been added:

Mobile Client: New Navigation in Android

The navigation switches from top to bottom to enable users to act quickly. This creates better accessibility on mobile as the navigation is closer to the thumb than having top navigation. Additionally, a user-side panel has been added to find user information.

Identified Pain

Users have expressed a need for modifications to the navigation system on Android. The top navigation is causing challenges for operators who are on the go and only have their mobile device with them.

The Result
The top navigation slows down response times, as it requires the users to stretch to the upper part of the screen to interact or check information while on the move.

It behaves like an internet browser, even on a mobile device.

Possible Solution

Changing from top navigation to bottom navigation enables operators to respond swiftly.

The navigation panel’s closeness to the thumb facilitates easier access to alerts and allows for quick checks and response while on the move.

Mobile Clients: Show Notification Badge on the Alarms tab in iOS and Android

The notification badge is now added when there’s a new alarm on the alarm icon. This is visible in the alarm tab on both IOS and Android. This allows the operator to get an indication of when to check alarms and act accordingly when on the go.

Identified Pain
While operators are out and about, they do not receive any alerts indicating if an alarm has occurred, which prevents them from responding appropriately.

They are, therefore, unaware if there is need for any action and will not know unless they upon up the application on their mobile device.

The Result

The likelihood of overlooking alarms has increased.
This situation may lead to security breaches or missing out on important alerts.

This makes it difficult for operators to function effectively without clear indications of alarm locations or statuses.

Possible Solution
With the latest update of a showcasing the notification badge on the Alarms tab in both iOS and Android, it enables operators to remain aware of alarms continuously, even while on the go, thereby enhancing efficiency and increasing response times.

Changes and solved issues

Changes compared to Desk Client 2024 R2
An option for Greek language has been added to the Desk Client.
Exporting in Media player format– combined file has gotten new options for:
• adding camera names,
• adding date- and timestamps,
• as well as the option to choose between exporting in a single camera view or an Adaptive View format.
Choosing single camera view produces the same result as before this release i.e. a single file, playable in any media player application, that contains video from multiple cameras, one after the other.
Choosing the new option of Adaptive View produces a single file that will display video from exported cameras in a grid layout, with concurrent video displaying simultaneously. This is similar to the Adaptive View in the MOBOTIX HUB export format, but in a portable file-format. All the new options can be man-aged through Desk Client profiles.

Stricter validation of security certificate setup making IDP Server component mandatory. This has been part of the VMS since MOBOTIX HUB 2021R1. The change removes any risk of the software doing fallback to unsecure connection methods.

Changes compared to Web Client 2024 R2

An option for Greek language has been added to the Web Client.

Changes compared to Mobile 2024 R2

An option for Greek language has been added to the Mobile Clients (iOS and Android).

New navigation for Android has been added:
It is user centered. The users will now be able to act quicker, as the new navigation icons are going to be on the bottom of the screen, closer to the thumb. We are also adding user side panel, where they could find their user information.

Show Notification Badge on the Alarms tab in iOS and Android:
It is now possible to see an indication that there have been new alarms on the alarm icon in the alarm tab in both iOS and Android.
