I’d love to hear other’s experience with the S74 after using the S16B cameras. Do you think the benefit from the S74 was worth the time, costs, and advancements? If so, what were the benefits you found useful. If not, what didn’t you like about it?
I’ve used x2-x6 models for quite a while. But I am having a hard time finding a really good reason why I should switch some of my S16 units with the S74.
Note: I have never had a hardware failure with any mobotix models. The only one that did not last, was the model that couldn’t handle the flames of a forest fire. It was an M12 Dev. But that is not the fault of the camera.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. I do see the advantage to being able to use 2 sensor modules and and IR sensor module. I was not sure that was possible.
The speaker/microphone module for the S74 gives it a nicer look. But one can easily hook up a speaker for the S16. Plus, the microphone in the senor module.
I may give one of these units a try. I would really be interested in the frame rate comparison. And I don’t mean a comparison when there is not a lot of pixel change. As many know, the advertised frame rate is much different when there is a lot of pixel change, exposure change, etc. There is a lot of difference between S15 and the S16 in this respect. So I would expect the same with the S74 (using the same parameters as the S16).
I know that they make the RJ45 a slide-in module. Have they made a fiber module yet?
