How to trigger an Output connected to a different Camera

It is possible to trigger an Output connected to a camera from another camera by using MxMessageSystem.

Camera not connected to the Output

  1. Admin Menu > Network Distribution of Messages

MxMessage_Output1

  • Ensure that “Networking” is enabled
  1. Admin Menu > Message Profiles for Action Groups create the following profile:

  • MxMessageSystem Name: <Name of Message>

  • Message Range: Global

Note: The MxMessage name must be 100% consistent through out the whole process. The MxMessage name is case sensitive.

  1. In Setup Menu Menu > Event Overview

  • Determine which event(s) trigger the MxMessage

- In this case I have selected UC as an example

  1. Setup Menu > Action Group Overview and create the following Action Group

  • Event Selection: Event(s) identified in Step 3.

  • Action 1: MxMessage Profile created in Step 2.

Camera connected to the Output

  1. Admin Menu > Signal Output

  • Created a Signal Output profile for the required Output

- I am using the output on an ExtIO as an example

  1. Admin Menu > Network Distribution of Messages

  • Ensure that “Networking” is enabled
  1. In Setup Menu Menu > Event Overview > Message Event create the following event:

  • Event Sensor Type: MxMessageSystem
  • Message Name: <MxMessage name created on the Camera without the Output>
  • Message Range: Global
  1. Setup Menu > Action Group Overview and create the following Action Group
