When you add a new bridge to the cloud, by default the bandwidth setting is set to % of available which is 30 or 50, One of those.
So unless somebody manually changes it to fixed, it will be on the default value.
P.S: Bridge update doesn’t change this.
We always recommend using fixed bandwidth. It is more reliable.
How to calculate the recommended Bandwidth ?
We usually calculate with…
- 1 mb/s per camera if the camera is set to HD1 resolution.
- 2 mb/s per camera if the camera is set to HD2 resolution.
- 4 mb/s per camera if the camera is set to HD4 resolution.
And so on
So, as an example, if a bridge has 12 cameras, all HD1, fixed bandwidth can be set to 12 mb/s. If they have more available, setting more is not a problem either of course.
