MOVE NVR Basic Networking and Troubleshooting

Rules for Setting the NVR’s IP Address

The IP of camera depends on the physical PoE port that the camera is connected to : 192.168.51. (2* port +1).

For example, camera connects to port 3 will have to use IP: 192.168.51.7.

As a result:

  • 8CH NVR, 192.168.51.3~17 are occupied
  • 16CH NVR, 192.168.51.3~33 are occupied

It is essential the IP address of NVR for WAN and LAN:

  1. Can not be under the same network domain.
  2. Can not be under the same network domain as PoE ports (192.168.51.XX).

Note: the Network setting for WAN/ LAN is under Setup > Network > Ethernet > Interface > eth0/ vlan100

PC and cameras connected to the LAN port

  1. For PC to have access to NVR, the PC and NVR need to be in same network domain

  2. In order for the PC to have access to cameras connecting to NVR’s PoE ports, the PC and PoE cameras are under the same network domain. This is 192.168.51.(xxx)

It is recommended to use 192.168.51.200 for PC to avoid IP conflict.

Note: To ensure the PC has access to both the NVR and PoE cameras, the PC needs to have two IPs which are under the same network domain as the NVR and PoE cameras, respectively.

Note: In this condition, the PC will have simultaneous access to NVR, cameras connecting to POE ports of the NVR, and cameras connecting to the switch

PC and cameras connected to the WAN port

  1. For PC to have access to NVR, the PC and NVR need to be in same network domain

  2. In this configuration the PC will have access to NVR and cameras connecting to the switch. However it will not have can not have access to cameras connecting to the NVR PoE port

Troubleshooting Case

The NVR does not connect and record to some cameras.

  • The cameras is accessible via browser during this period.
  • Cameras are using fixed IP addresses
  • IP address conflict has been ruled out
  • A reboot of the system rectifies the issue.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Go to “PoE Management” page and check the PoE setting. After selecting “Re-Scan”, the system should reset the IP address based on the rule: 192.168.51. 2*port + 1.
  • Link quality should be 100%.

Note: This is feature is only available for the MOVE camera range

  • If the PoE switch setting menu displayed correctly, but there is still no video displayed on NVR, check the camera’s username / password ,
  • Also check tha the filters are set correctly (Ref. Image below)

If the issue is still not resolve by the above steps a screenshot of the “PoE Management” and “Add
Device” pages would be required for further investigation.
