Password reset on D15's

We did an install 7 years ago and put in 9 D15’s. The client has since gone through changes over the years and their IT team did not keep track of the passwords for the camera’s. I am trying to save future work with this client by helping them with password resets.

Mobotix has said they are not supporting the 15’s and can no longer help with resetting passwords. Does anyone know of a way to password reset by chance?

At this point we have 9 expensive bricks that have ran its lifetime support.

Hi,

where there any updates installed on those cameras? A password can be resetted by an MPL file, but only if the firmware is higher than 4.7.2.18 which was released 2019-01-31.

If the cameras are integrated in MxManagementCenter and you still have access to them there you can check for the installed firmware.

If the installed firmware is higher than 4.7.2.18 you can contact your dealer and ask for a password MPL file. If you buy the cameras directly at Mobotix, feel free to contact our RMA team: rma@mobotix.com.

Thanks for the response. Mobotix nor the dealer can provide help due to being outdated. this is per Mobotix tech support and the Rep and my Dealer.

I can not update the files due to no access to them.

I been working with Mobotix for close to 14 years in total. This has seriously turned me off from Mobotix. Dealer said we can update these for next to nothing/ These were brand new cameras in 2017 , Less than 10 years old and Mobotix cant reset ? I guess I dont understand the ins and outs on what happened to the data that cant be resent .

I am very sorry that we can not help in this case. The reset via MPL file is just not implemented in earlier firmware and if we reset cameras at MOBOTIX there are parts that need to changed so that the camera can have a warranty again and those parts are simply not available anymore.
The possibility to change those cameras for newer models for a better price is really the only option left. If you want to know more details on that, please feel free to contact our sales team.

Il est vrai que sur des caméras chinoises il est souvent facile de les réinitialiser, d’ailleurs c’est ce que font les pirates !
C’est également pour cette raison que j’ai choisi Mobotix !
