SMB protocol's for newer and older series of Mobotix cameras

Mobotix cameras support various versions of the SMB protocol, depending on the camera series they belong to. SMB (Server Message Block) is a network protocol used for sharing files, printers, and other resources over a network. Here is a summary of the SMB protocols supported by each Mobotix camera series:

  1. Mobotix 7 Camera Series: Supports SMB 3.1.1. For SMB2 or higher, NTLMSSP (NT LAN Manager Security Support Provider) is required.

  2. Mx6 Camera Series: Supports SMB 2.1. For SMB2 or higher, NTLMSSP is required.

  3. Mx5 Camera Series: Supports SMB 1.0 only, with NTLMv1 (NT LAN Manager version 1) supported.

  4. 4er Camera Series: Supports SMB 1.0 only, with NTLMv1 supported. This series is included due to the system release “Firmware” label P3 x14 found on archived firmware.

  5. 3er Camera Series: Supports SMB 1.0. This series is also included due to the system release “Firmware” label P3 x14 found on archived firmware.

  6. Mx2 Camera Series: Supports SMB 1.0.

To use the SMB protocol with your Mobotix camera, you will need to enable NTLMSSP on your NAS (Network Attached Storage) or file storage system. Keep in mind that the SMB version supported may vary depending on the specific model and camera series of your Mobotix camera. Always refer to the product documentation or contact Mobotix support for the most accurate and up-to-date information.

Below is an Image on where you will find the SMB protocols on a QNAP NAS.

This should read SMB 1.0 NTLMv1 as well

May get more explanation about 3er software / 4er software and etc…
What does it mean?
Base on my understanding, if it is xx2, xx4, xx5, xx6, x7x, there is no xx3 camera model.
Thank you
