Hi All,
I have 25 x M24 and Q25/25 and trying to get 10 out of 25 cameras that are not creating NFS share directories after setup and restart.
I’ve saved it and rebooted a dozen times but the status of the camera still indicates it’s still old SMB details with old config info. Have the latest firmware, just after some direction?
Same camera shows its still holding Old SMB details, path, quota etc.
thanks for any advice
Hello,
There is a problem that may affect several people who use a recording with the Synology NAS. With the switch from DSM 6 to DSM 7, NTLMv1 is deactivated and only NTLMv2 is activated. Please note the following:
P3 camera series:
This camera series cannot use NTLMv2!!! To do this, you must do the following. Go to Control Panel → File Services → SMB → Advanced Settings → Set min. SMB version to 1 and max. version to 3.
In the same window, you will find Miscellaneous in the menu bar at the top, and if you scroll down, you will find the option Enable NTLMv1 authentication.
Without these options, the cameras will not be able to record to the NAS.
Please note that this authentication is very old and therefore has security vulnerabilities. Synology is therefore discontinuing this version and recommends using the new version.
If you have any questions about why this does not work with version 2, please refer to
Camera P6 and P7 series:
There are two options here:
Option 1:
Switch the NAS to NTLMv1 as described for the P3 series.
Variant 2:
On the camera website, go to Admin → Storage → Storage on external file server/flash medium → click on “More” at the bottom of the bar → click on Start Test to find the NTLM mode option and select NTLMv2.
Important: click Set, then Save Permanently and Restart Camera.
Thanks MX-JesW for your reply.
I see the DSM7 settings you refer to but please note that in every case I am trying to use NFS.
Should I be trying to use SMB instead? some cameras of the same type and firmware version have different results.
Also in each case, The NFS Configuration page tests OK, but the status page (after reset) return that the cameras are attempting SMB mounts?
Below in red are cameras that are not creating directories and other are?
thanks again for your reply
Hi,
The M24 passes the file test using SMB1 ,option Enable NTLMv1 authentication. on the DMS7
just cant get it to write,
Camera is set for continuous recording . NAS Logs indicate that the camera has deleted the test file?
Do Mobotix use non standard characters in file names? time and date directory text problems?
thanks again
Hi ,
where can turn off the time of day stamp.
I think the colons in the file names may be stopping the file write?

Hi,
This has been resolved .. M24 Cameras can need physical reset (Remove Power) for changes to take effect.
Hope this helps someone.
