I attempted a firmware update of the Q24 camera without setting the date and time. It failed and now the camera does not boot up, there is a power light but no web interface and it doesn’t appear on my network with an IP address from DHCP. I also cannot access the camera from the factory IP.
Is there a way to recover this camera.
As its not accessible on the network, can I use a EEPROM writing tool to copy the config from a working Q24 model to the broken one?
Is there a factory reset “Mobotix” recovery tool device (USB?) that you can plug-in to the camera, that will push a new firmware to the device successfully?
The Q24 (and all other MX-Cameras) has a reset-button. It is hard to describe how to find it, that’s why I uploaded the manual for you (we don’t have it on our homepage anymore, but I stored it locally):
If the camera’s IP address is not known or it can’t be reached, you can start the camera with its factory IP address. Section 3.2.6, “Starting the Camera with the Factory IP Address”, describes this procedure in every detail.
My Q24M doesn have the L and R button . On the place of the picture i have 2 led s green and red. I have accessoires to the camera but difficult to update firmware and installing the flash sd card. I love to fight with the camera untill it does what i want. Bus sometimes i loose !
It s nice to have someone with the same crazy hobby to share info.
